It was 1992. I was attending graduate school at George Mason University. Telecom Engineering class. Projects were assigned to teams of two.
Lucky for me, my teammate was Gal Borenstein. I remember being fascinated with his unique accent, sharp intellect, creative mind and humongous sense of humor. We worked well together, got an A on the project and became fast friends.
I always knew Gal would have success. Not just a little — but a lot. I was right. Gal went on to single-handedly build a successful marketing company, author a fascinating book for CEOs, and this past week he was featured on CNN, sharing his perspective on how retailers can focus on customer experience to survive and thrive in the current recession.
